Youth Development and Peace Building
JARDO initiates community-based youth-led community development projects that focuses on providing opportunities for young people to develop their skills, knowledge, capacity, and leadership through capacity building training, mentoring, entrepreneurship and income generating activities. These activities are better designed to equip young people with the tools required to fully realize their potential to participate and influence decision making on matters affecting their life.
Our advocacy efforts include raising public awareness, promoting policy changes, and mobilizing resources to support youth development initiatives.
JARDO also involves peace building activities by addressing root causes of conflict and violence. These include conflict resolution, mediation, dialogue, and reconciliations to enhance social cohesion and peaceful co-existence by creating community safety plan, safety networks and partnerships. JARDO implements conflict management and early warning system since it is critical for effective peace building efforts to mitigate and prevent conflict escalation in the community.
